ICE IN KC?

Dolphins/Chiefs (H)  O/U  @ 38.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
Early weather reports from KC don't look good. They're expecting freezing conditions, so much so that Miami head coach Tony Sporano has his squad practicing with footballs dunked in ice water. This has the potential to be a very low-scoring affair.

WEEK 16

I have no idea why I like so many O/U's this week...

6 pt. teaser
Colts E Jaguars (H) & O/U @ 38

DeVoodoo's pick: Colts/OVER
The Colts need this win to clinch their place in the playoffs, so expect an all-out effort, despite Marvin Harrison's absence. The Jags will try to play spoiler and will put up a few points, thus the teaser rationale (which hasn't worked great for me this year).

Steelers/Titans (H) O/U @ 34.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
The winner secures home field advantage throughout the playoffs. I'm betting that a special teams or defensive touchdown or two will push this line over.

Ravens/Cowboys (H) O/U @ 39.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
The Cowboys field a finesse offense that doesn't like to get slapped around. The Ravens D slaps people around. So I expect the Dallas offense to struggle, and their defense to equally stifle the Ravens vanilla offense.

Eagles/Redskins (H) O/U @ 39.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
The Eagles should put up their usual dose of offensive points, but will this be the week the Redskins finally get their offense back on track? I'm betting yes.

Saints/Lions (H) O/U @ 50.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
There won't be any need for the Saints to air it out as they usually do to keep pace with their opponents. The Lions have an anemic offense and terrible run defense, so I expect the Saints' RB Pierre Thomas to rush the ball frequently, chewing up lots of clock.

Packers +4 Bears (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Packers
My first gambling mentor once gave a great piece of advice: NFC North road dogs usually cover the spread. I have no idea why, but it's proven true a remarkable number of times over the past 15 years.

WEEK 15

Tuh-dah!:

6.5-pt. teaser
Patriots  -.5  Raiders (H)  |  46 O/U

DeVoodoo's pick: Patriots/UNDER
I can't imagine the Pats losing this game under any scenario, nor do I feel the Raiders will offer much in terms of offense. The teaser seemed like the safest play.

Ravens (H) O/U @ 17.5 vs. Steelers

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
Both defenses will be geek'd up to prove supremacy. I see this being a 13-10 type game. Don't know who will win, but the Ravens shouldn't crack 17.5.

Titans/Texans (H) O/U @ 44.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
I don't feel strong about this one, but I like the Texans offense, and the Titans have been putting up points all year. I'll take the over.

Packers  -1.5  Jaguars (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Packers
The Jags are simply out of sorts. Nothing is clicking for this team. The Packers have disappointed as well, but they've shown more promise than the Jags, and I expect this game to be a bounce-back of sorts for the Pack.

6-pt. teaser
Giants  +9  Cowboys (H) | 52 O/U

DeVoodoo's pick: Giants/UNDER

WEEK 14

Five plays for week 14...

Jaguars/Bears (H)  O/U  @ 40.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
The Bears need to close out the season strong, and I expect them to fully exploit Jacksonville's flaccid defense. Also,I've got a feeling Garrard will bounce back for a couple more solid games before the season's out. This should be one of them.

6-pt. teaser
Eagles  +12.5  Giants (H) / O/U @ 37

DeVoodoo's pick: Eagles/OVER
This has the smell of a close, high-scoring game. Against my better judgment, I took a standard 6-pt. teaser to  pad my expectations.

Patriots  -4.5  Seahawks (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Patriots
This line has already moved to -6.5 with a lot of books, so I thought this a rather good deal on the gaming site I use (BetUS.com). That said, this has all the makings of a trap game, so I'm not gushing in love with this pick. The Seahawks have been terrible all year, but Hasselbeck has another week under his belt and they might play loose and dangerous. But in the end, I'm betting the Patriots' hunger to put themselves in playoff contention will win out.

Jets  -3.5  49ers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Jets
The Jets got embarrassed last week. Ain't no better cure for humiliation than playing a team from the Bay Area.

Cowboys  +3  Steelers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Steelers
The Steelers are the most physical team in football. Plain and simple. Hell, even Hines Ward, a receiver, is infamous for his brutal blind-side blocks. And guess what? The Cowboys are soft. Smack the Cowboys in the mouth — and smack them the Steelers plan to do — and watch the Cowboys' collective confidence evaporate like sweat off T.O.'s head.
