SUPER BOWL - LATE ADDITIONS

Heath Miller receiving yards O/U @ 45.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
Miller has been used more as a blocker this year due to an injury depleted offensive line in Pittsburgh. Furthermore, TE's don't historically put up big numbers against 3-4 defenses, like the one the Packers run.

Team to use coach's challenge first

DeVoodoo's pick: Packers
I'll admit, a bit of a goofy bet, but since it's an even spread, I'll roll the dice and say the head coach making his first Super Bowl appearance -- Mike McCarthy -- will be a tad more jittery than the guy who's been there before, Mike Tomlin. And jitters can lead to hasty coaching decisions in the heat of battle.

First offensive play of the game -- run vs. pass

DeVoodoo's pick: Pass
A) There's no conceivable reason why the Packers will open the game by running smack into the Steel curtain.
B) If the Steelers get the ball first, I'd imagine they'll let Rapemyhamburger try to set the proper offensive tone.

SUPER BOWL PICKS!!!

Let the crazy Super Bowl wagers begin... (sorry, I haven't placed any bets on whether Fergie wears a thong or bodysuit during her halftime show, though that was one of the options at my disposal). I may have more picks before Sunday, but in the meantime........

1st half total points (both teams) +.5 2nd half/OT total points (both teams)

DeVoodoo's pick: 2nd half
In other words, I'm giving a half-point while betting more points will be scored in the second half (plus possible overtime) than the first half. This is easily my favorite gamble of the weekend.

A.J. Hawk total tackless for the game O/U @ 6.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
Hawk is a bust. Why would he suddenly shine in the Super Bowl?

Rashard Mendenhall 1st half total yards -16.5 yards James Starks 1st half total yards

DeVoodoo's pick: Mendenhall
This wager counts rushing/receiving yard totals only. I'm happy to give 16.5 yards to Starks in this one-on-one battle, especially during the first half, when the Steelers defense will be fresh and offering little wiggle room to the rookie running back on a pass-first team.

Aaron Rodgers 1st half completions -1.5 Ben Roethlisberger 1st half completions

DeVoodoo's pick: Rodgers
Why wouldn't Rodgers complete more balls than Rapemyhamburger?

Steelers TEAM O/U @ 20.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
Three TDs for the Steelers over the span of the entire game seems awfully attainable to me.
