WEEK 12 - MNF

FIRST HALF: 49ers E Cardinals (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Cardinals
It might take the 'Niners four full quarters to get their offense on track, assuming it ever does get on track.

WEEK 12

Patriots/Lions FIRST HALF O/U @ 24.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
I expect the Lions to keep the game fairly close for the first half. Defense will play a big part in that.

Patriots/Lions O/U @ 50.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
And for that matter, I don't see a massive outpouring of offense for the balance of the game.

Saints -3.5 Cowboys (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Saints
Though my bets against the Jason Garrett-led Cowboys have yet to pay off, I'm not changing my tune.

Bengals/Jets(H) O/U @ 43

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
Don't expect much offense from the Bengals.

Vikings +2 Redskins (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Vikings
Do I think the switch from Brad Childress to Leslie Frazier will have an immediate and positive impact on the moribund Vikings franchise? Yes, I do.

Steelers/Bills(H) O/U @ 43.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
The Bills have been in shootouts all year long. This is a surprisingly low point total.

Jaguars +7 Giants (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Jaguars
That's a lot of points for the first place team in the AFC South. And the Giants receiving corps is an injury-riddled wasteland. New York will try to run the ball, but that's the one thing that's difficult to do against the Jags.

Eagles -3 Bears (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Eagles
The Bears have been hot of late. The Eagles have been hotter.

Chargers +3 Colts (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Colts
It's tough to bet against the Chargers in November, but the Colts are a desperately wounded animal and need this one bad. The home crowd will give the extra boost needed to derail Rivers and company.

Monday, November 22, 2010

WEEK 11 - MNF

Broncos v. Chargers(H) O/U @ 50

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
I'll take most NFL 'unders' at 50 regardless of the two teams playing.

WEEK 11 - ADDITION

Ravens -10 Panthers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Ravens
Carolina just announced that Brian St. Pierre will start this week at quarterback against the Ravens. Who is Brian St. Pierre? Exactly.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

WEEK 11

Bears +1.5 Dolphins (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Dolphins
The Bears played well last week. They do seem to be improving overall. But Miami has impressed me all season with their grit. And the only reason the Dolphins aren't giving away more points in this Thursday night matchup is because third-stringer Tyler Thigpen will be starting at QB. But to those who have closely followed Thigpen's brief career, he's an impressive prospect. Don't be surprised if he plays well.

Falcons -3 Rams (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Falcons
This has me a bit nervous only because it smells like a trap. But I'm gonna bite anyway because the Falcons are solid in all phases of the game. And because Rams rookie QB Sam Bradford has to stumble at some point, right?

Texans +7 Jets (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Texans
I'm betting on the Jets losing a little focus this week after a series of hard-fought games.

Lions +6.5 Cowboys (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Lions
The Lions are losing very close games at an astonishing rate, so those points are tasty. And I'm of the belief that last week's outburst by Cowboys was an aberration, and not a future trend from the Jason Garret-led team.

Btw, I saw a clip of Garret's post-game locker room speech and I've never witnessed a bigger tool in charge of an NFL team in my life. The guy is NOT cut out to be a head coach. He told his players to take an extra moment to look at themselves in the mirror as they put on their suit and tie (the new Garret-imposed dress code for game days). Does this uber stiff white guy really think that commands respect from his players? Will tying a Windsor knot make his players believe in themselves more? This isn't high school, Jason. Go eat a dick, honky.

Raiders/Steelers(H) O/U @ 41

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
Pretty low point total for two teams finding offensive life late in the season. Compound that by the fact that the Steelers defense is crumbling at an alarming rate (due to injuries), and I like this pick plenty.

Colts/Patriots(H) O/U @ 50.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
Manning and the rest of the Colts offense just hasn't seemed... right. Injuries have a lot to do with it. But Manning is misfiring far more than usual. To make matters worse, he'll be playing outdoors on grass, not in the comfy confines of his home dome.

Packers/Vikings(H) O/U @ 44

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
This is a last ditch effort for the Vikings. Lose, and the season is pretty much over. So Brett Favre will either throw a few TD passes to his receivers, or to Green Bay defenders. Either way is fine by me.

Giants +3 Eagles (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Eagles
Michael Vick has found a second life. It's not a blip on the radar. It's for real.

Friday, November 12, 2010

WEEK 10 ADDITION

Titans -1.5 Dolphins (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Dolphins
Chad Pennington is obviously not the longterm QB solution for the Dolphins. But my guess is he'll provide enough spark to lift the home team to a victory.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

WEEK 10

Ravens +1.5 Falcons (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Falcons
Just a hunch.

Texans +1.5 Jaguars (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Texans
I think the Texans are the better 4 -4 team. By far.

Vikings -1 Bears (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Vikings
The Dysfunction Bowl.

Chiefs -1 Broncos (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Chiefs
My favorite play of the weekend. The Chiefs want to bounce back strong after the stinging overtime loss to the Raiders.

Rams +6.5 49ers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Rams
One team is on the rise, the other in a free fall. Though I will admit I'm a Troy Smith fan, and I'm glad to see him finally get a chance to prove his quarterbacking skills with the 'Niners, I hope he wins by no more than six points.

Patriots +5 Steelers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Patriots
Expect Belichick and crew to rebound strong from last week's disappointing loss to Cleveland.

Eagles -3 Redskins (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Eagles
Not this time, McNabb/Redskins fans.

Monday, November 8, 2010

WEEK 9 - MNF

Steelers v. Bengals(H) 4th QUARTER O/U @ 10

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
Kind of a strange bet, but I see the 4th quarter O/U at 10 to be a relatively safe play as teams tend to open up with offensive burst as games draw to a close.

Sunday, November 7, 2010

WEEK 9 - SNF - LAST MINUTE PLAY!!

Jon Kitna O/U TD's + INTs @ 2.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
To clarify this exotic bet... I'm betting Cowboys QB Jon Kitna will throw a combined total of TD's and INT's over 2.5.

Friday, November 5, 2010

WEEK 9 ADDITION

Giants -7 Seahawks (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Seahawks
With Seattle QB Charlie Whitehurst making his first career start, and with the way the Giants front seven ferociously rush the passer, this is one of those games where everything points to a New York blowout.

So that's my first clue to take the inverse side of this classic trap game. With the Giants traveling cross country to take on a Seahawks team everyone assumes they'll beat, I'm betting the Giants will play with little pop, and jet-lagged legs.

Thursday, November 4, 2010

WEEK 9

Bears -3 Bills (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Bills
I gotta give the BIlls credit for staying positive and playing hard despite being winless. They are not a team that will go 0 - 16. The Bears seem to be going backwards. Perhaps the stars have aligned to give the Bills their first win of the season.

Buccaneers +8 Falcons (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Buccaneers
That's a lot of points for a team with one of the best records in the NFC.

Dolphins +5.5 Ravens (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Dolphins
Tough call here. But the Dolphins bring a very tough brand of football to their games every week. The Ravens continue to reveal defensive leaks. I'm seeing a close game here, so the points might come in handy.

Chiefs +3 Raiders (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Chiefs
The Raiders aren't suddenly a functional franchise.

Saints -6.5 Panthers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Panthers
As an intra-division foe, the Panthers know how to prepare for the Saints. So despite a terrible season, look for Carolina to keep this one close, or even pull off a surprising upset.

(SPECIAL NOTE: Rumors are swirling today that Brees has been playing with a fractured knee, thus explaining his poor production. Stay tuned.)

Patriots -4 Browns (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Patriots
Here's how Bill Belichick characterized his relationship, yesterday, with Eric Mangini, his back-stabbing former assistant coach: "We coach two teams that are playing each other this week."

Belichick fucking hates Mangini. Me thinks the Patriots coach will unleash the hounds on Mangini's rookie QB Colt McCoy, and produce a humiliating defeat.
