PATS v. SAINTS -- MNF

Patriots/Saints(H) 1st HALF  O/U  @ 28.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
The Patriots' offense is good, but not good enough to keep pace with the Saints, especially in the dome of New Orleans. I'm guessing Belichick will find creative ways to slow down the Saints... for the first-half, at least.

WEEK 12

Bears  +10.5  Vikings (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Bears
Vikings RB Adrian Peterson might not play. Beyond that, I get the sense the Vikings are due for a slight downturn.

Buccaneers  +12  Falcons (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Buccaneers
The Falcons' season is starting to spoil faster than that shitty cranberry Jell-O in your fridge. This is a must win game against a team they're expected to beat. Conversely, nobody expects anything out of the Bucs. The result? The Falcons will play tight, and the Bucs will play loose. Twelve points is tasty.

Jaguars  +3  49ers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: 49ers
Tough 49ers D should keep Jags RB Jones-Drew in check. I like the home field advantage too (FLA to Cali is a loooong ride). And it seems 49ers QB Alex Smith is getting exponentially more comfortable as the season progresses.

Seahawks  -3  Rams (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Seahawks
The Rams are beset by injuries. And the Seahawks are hungry to make this season at least respectable. Destroying the Rams is a good place to start.

THANKSGIVING DAY

Packers/Lions(H)  O/U  @ 47.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
The Lions will need to play a defensive, ball control type game to have any chance against the high-flying Packers offense; the sold-out home field crowd should help in this regard. Finally, I don't expect much out of the Lions offense, even if QB Stafford can play (game time decision).

Cowboys (H) TEAM TOTAL O/U  @  27  vs.  Raiders

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
Are the Cowboys starting their annual winter slide into mediocrity? After hanging a measly seven points on the Redskins last week, 27 seems like a lofty goal against a decent Raiders defense.

Giants  +6.5  Broncos (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Broncos
I'm kinda kicking myself for not taking this bet yesterday when the line was 7. Hopefully that half-point won't mean anything. I feel one of two things will happen here — the Broncos will pull off an outright upset, or lose the game by a heartbreakingly close margin.

WEEK 11

Dolphins  +3  Panthers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Dolphins
Losing RB Ronnie Brown for the season hurts the Dolphins. But I think his replacement, Ricky Williams, will surprise as the new featured back. The Dolphins are playing solid football in all phases of the game. QB Chad Henne has proven himself a steady starter. Carolina has had its bright spots in recent weeks, but not enough to erase the memory of what a mess they were less than a month ago.

49ers/Packers(H)  O/U  @ 41.5

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
The Packers offense should score points in the comfort of their own house. And I just have a feeling that the 49ers passing game will spark to life this week.

Seahawks/Viking(H) 1st HALF  O/U  @ 23

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
The Vikings have been starting slow all season. They like to establish the run before letting Favre wing it around. And I don't expect much out of the Seahawks offense on the road (or anywhere, for that matter).

Saints/Buccaneers(H) 1st HALF  O/U  @ 27

DeVodoo's pick: UNDER
This is a crazy high first-half O/U. I mean, I know the Saints are the Saints, but still... They're on the road, and playing a team that can barely get first downs, let alone touchdowns. This is my favorite play of the week.

Jets  +10.5  Patriots (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Patriots
A lot has changed since the Patriots lost to the Jets in the Meadowlands in week two. The Jets have zero confidence right now (HC Rex Ryan was reportedly crying at a team meeting a few days ago), and the Patriots have regained their groove. To top it all off, last week's Patriots loss to the Colts was a real stinger for Belichick's proud squad. Expect them to play awfully pissed off.

Titans  +4.5  Texans (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Titans
Titans QB Vince Young returns to his home town for an oddly intriguing MNF match-up. The Texans just can't seem to win games they should, or need to, to remain relevant. Meanwhile, the Titans actually seem to believe they can turn this season around. I'll take the points.

WEEK 10

Chiefs  +1.5  Raiders (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Chiefs
If the Chiefs can't win this one, team morale will plummet to epic depths of despair.

Bengals  +7  Steelers (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Bengals
The Bengals are legit. And that's too many points to pass up for such an important division game.

Lions/Vikings(H)  O/U  @ 47.5

DeVoodoo's pick: UNDER
My hunch is the Vikings coaching staff realizes they have to be smart managing QB Brett Favre's 40-year-old body. And there's no need to stress Favre's arm against the crap-ass Lions. So look for a lot of Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor to grind out the game clock.

Patriots  +2.5  Colts (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Patriots
The Patriots are rising. Colts get a reality check this weekend.

Ravens  -11  Browns (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Ravens
Last week's 17-7 loss to the Bengals stung the Ravens. Badly. All frustrations will be taken out on the hapless Browns this Monday night.

THURSDAY NIGHT

Bears  +1.5  49ers (H) -- 1st HALF

DeVoodoo's pick: Bears
Not sure who will win this game, but I think the Bears will try their damndest to jump out to an early lead in the fist half in an effort to quell the 49er home crowd.

WEEK 9

Chargers  +5  Giants (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Chargers
It all boils down to this... in the remarkable draft day trade of 2001 (or whatever the hell year it was) that sent Manning from San Diego to NY for Rivers, these two QBs became forever linked. This is an opportunity for each QB to prove which team got the better end of the deal; in the end, the Chargers will prove they did. Besides, the Giants D has sucked serious balls lately.

Teaser...
49ers (H) +2 Titans / U @ 47

DeVoodoo's pick: 49ers & the UNDER
I took a 6-point teaser play (standard 10% vig) and kicked the spread from 49ers -4 to +2, and the 'under' play from 41 to 47.

Dolphins  +10.5  Patriots (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Dolphins
Big division game here. And that's a lot of points. I'll take 'em.

Bengals (H) team O/U @ 20.5  v. Ravens

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
Despite past historical trends between these two teams (read: defensive battles), I expect an offensive shootout. Three TDs for the Bengals is very probable.

Cowboys  +3  Eagles (H)

DeVoodoo's pick: Eagles
CORRECTION TO EARLIER POST -- I MISSTATED THE EAGLES AS GIVING 3 POINTS, NOT RECEIVING. THE CORRECTION IS REFLECTED ABOVE, BUT I STILL LIKE THE EAGLES. SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION. I JUST RETURNED FROM THE DENTIST AND I'M ON COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF VICODIN.

Steelers/Broncos(H) O/U @ 40

DeVoodoo's pick: OVER
MNF is usually a breeding ground for a lot of points. Forty seems awfully low.
